Wanda Walters

Wanda has been associated with The Sorensen School of Dance since September of 1993. While operating her own studio in Mount Pearl she was instrumental in beginning our Cecchetti ballet exam classes here. Since closing her own studio in 1998 she has continued to travel to further her studies in the teaching of ballet, attending summer programs and spending a full term in the professional development division at the National Ballet School. In July 2018, Wanda attended the Progressing Ballet Technique course in Montreal and certified to teach PBT under the instruction of Marie Walton-Mahon. Wanda has guest taught at many local studios and has mentored several of the younger ballet teachers in our province. She is an active member of the Provincial Committee for Cecchetti Canada and represented the group at Cecchetti National Conferences in Edmonton (2025) and Montreal (2026). Currently, she is the Cecchetti exam coordinator for our province. Wanda is available for private instruction along with coaching in Cecchetti Qualifying exams. Wanda has been a very important part of the SSOD team and we are so happy to have her with us again for the 2026-2027 dance season!
